With all the recent remakes out there, I feel the need to offer a little direction to any producer listening. Please remake Grapes of Wrath. John Steinbeck’s novel is (one of) the best of all classic American novels, but the ancient film just doesn’t do it justice. Censored and abridged almost to the point of meaninglessness, it just begs to be done properly; a big epic project that would resonate well with today’s current events. Thank you. Good day.

It would be interesting to see what a remake of Wrath would look like. I wonder if whoever takes the task will drag their political viewpoints into the picture or find a medium? The more I think about it, the original started to slant near the end and that turned me off a bit.
Well the book was certainly very strong, both in language and in viewpoints (although always conveyed thru the characters instead of via the author directly). The story is a political statement, so there will almost certainly be some bias and strong feelings one way or another by anyone involved in the project. I want it made, now! 😉
